After locating the tumor, the region is demarcated and the tumor and a small area around it are resected to prevent the formation of a new tumor mass. After surgery, the patient may need to use a drain to prevent bleeding.

As the surgical area is small and the removal is objective, there is preservation of the rib cage musculature. The patient will feel less pain, will be less debilitated, recovery will be faster and if there is a need to use auxiliary therapies such as chemotherapy and radiotherapy, they can be done in a shorter period. This is a very important advantage in the fight against cancer, as some tumors grow rapidly.
