WHAT IS MIDCAB CORONARY SURGERY and Robotics?
MIDCAP or MICS CABG are known as minimally invasive coronary surgery to treat reduced blood flow to the heart caused by obstruction of the coronary arteries.
Description of the procedure
The procedure is performed without extracorporeal circulation in 100% of patients (Off-Pump Surgery). Arterial grafts are used whenever possible, namely the left and right internal mammary arteries, the radial artery (when indicated) and the extraction of venous conduits. The entire procedure is performed using minimally invasive techniques.
MIDCABS coronary surgery usually lasts 100 minutes. Patients are discharged after 4 to 6 days in hospital.
They are expected to return to work after 3 weeks of rest. Moderate physical activity, on the other hand, can take place 1 month after the surgery, in a regular situation and without extraordinary events.
