How is appendix closure surgery performed?
This surgery is performed with extracorporeal circulation and general anesthesia in an operating room. The procedure consists of replacing the aortic valve with a prosthesis, either mechanical or biological, a choice that depends on the patient. Mechanical prostheses are placed in younger patients with a life expectancy of more than 25 years and require anticoagulant therapy for the rest of their lives. Biological prostheses have the great advantage of not needing anticoagulation, but have an approximate lifespan of 20 years. However, there are alternative methods for aortic valve replacement with a biological valve in the event of early degeneration.
Endoscopic Left Auricular Appendage Closure
Endoscopic treatment to close the left atrial appendage is a surgery that uses minimally invasive techniques to close the entrance to this small sac in patients with atrial fibrillation.
Percutaneous Left Auricular Appendage Closure
The Left Auricular Appendage Closure is a medical procedure performed using minimally invasive techniques and is the result of extensive studies carried out in the main internationally recognized cardiology centers. Through the development of specific techniques and materials, it represents the most modern and innovative treatment for atrial fibrillation.
