What is a percutaneous mitral prosthesis?
The Tendyne™ TMVR System is the first-in-class technology designed to eliminate mitral regurgitation (MR), offering selected patients with MR (≥ grade 3) a new option for mitral valve replacement.
Description of the procedure
Tendyne™ transcatheter mitral valve replacement (TMVR) improves the function and quality of life of selected patients with significant and symptomatic MR (≥ grade 3), offering a less invasive mitral valve replacement option compared to conventional mitral valve surgery. Tendyne TMVR provides symptom relief by eliminating MR.
Cardiac pacing procedure without the need for extracorporeal circulation or rapid pacing;
Complete elimination of AF in 99% of patients within 30 days;
Sustained elimination of AF in 93% of patients after 2 years;
96% technical success rate¹;
The system is fully positional and recoverable at any intraprocedural point;
Significant improvement in symptoms and quality of life measures;
Low average mitral gradient of 3.2 mm Hg after 2 years.
The duration of percutaneous mitral prosthesis surgery is usually 120 minutes. Patients are discharged after 1-2 days.
As far as work activity is concerned, after 1 week the patient can return to work. Full mobility is usually restored after 1 week and moderate physical activity after 2 weeks.
